History of Psychiatric Associates of Lynn
The Psychiatric Associates of Lynn was founded in 2003 by four partners (two advance practice nurses and two psychiatrists) who had been part of the Psychiatric Group of the North Shore. The goal was to provide superior psychopharmacological treatment to patients with psychiatric illness in an outpatient setting.
The office was opened on April 1, 2003 at 270 Union Street in Lynn with an electronic scheduling system but handwritten notes. In time, software was updated and the record system became completely electronic. Services initially involved psychiatric assessment and psychopharmacological management.
In 2007, J. Philip Reimherr, MD and Sherryl J Rosen, PMHCNS-BC became the Principals of the Practice. In 2015 the Practice moved to its current location at 173 Oxford Street in Lynn.
In 2007, Suboxone treatment was offered when it became available to help patients and has continued to be an available service at this Practice.
In 2012, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy was an added service to provide treatment for patients with treatment resistant major depression. TMS continues to be offered today. Visit our TMS Website.
In 2015, an Injection Clinic for Vivitrol and for long acting antipsychotic medication was opened shortly after the move.
From 2017 through April 2022, the Oxford Intensive Outpatient Recovery Program (IOP) was a premier treatment option for outpatient with opiate and alcohol addictions.
In the summer of 2019, Psychiatric Associates of Lynn partnered with Genoa Healthcare to open a Genoa Pharmacy at 173 Oxford Street, Lynn.
